Mr. Hody Buford Childress age 80 of Geraldine passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Funeral services are set for 2pm Thursday, January 5, 2023 from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Bros. Lynn Childress and Nicholas Nix officiating. Burial will be in Geraldine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel is in charge.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jo Childress; daughter, Tania Lynn (Ronald) Nix; son, Douglas Ray (Meshell) Childress; step-children, Jane (Richard) Ogle, Kenny (Sandra) Hall, and Jack (Tracy) Hall; sister, Wanza (Jerry) Darnell; brothers, Lynn (Shelia) Childress and Tony (Sharon) Childress; grandchildren, Nicholas (Brooke) Nix, Eric (Molly) Nix, Erica (Doug) Reid, Chelsey (Dusty) Rhodes, Levi (Lauryn) Childress, Haven Hall, London Hall, Cody (Catey) Hall, Kasey (Whitney) Hall, Russell (Hailey) Armstrong, Ashley (Josh) Smith, Emily Bigbee, Gracie Gilliland, Crystal Hall, and Cody (Kaitlyn) Tedder; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Hody Buford “Butch” Childress, Jr., wife, Peggy Nell Childress; and parents, Buddy and Arnette Childress.
Pallbearers will be Eric Nix, Levi Childress, Harley Nix, Cody Hall, Russell Armstrong, and Kasey Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Nix, Cody Tedder, Dusty Rhodes
