I remember knowing Uncle Floyd since my youth. He was always at family gatherings at Grandma and Grandpa Parker’s house. He and Ruth (my Mother’s sister) raised a great daughter, Candia - who has also been a great mom to her children with Pedro Matul. I have too many memories to share! But an interesting point was that years after my youth, when I worked as a reporter at the Fort Payne Times Journal, I worked with Uncle Floyd who was in the circulation department. He was dependable and a hard worker … by this time the years were approximately 1990-1996. But through thick and thin, he and Aunt Ruth stayed together despite rough times. Candia, I am so heartbroken for you, having lost your mom, Aunt Ruth, recently- and now your father. It was so good to be with you at Mt Vernon Decoration yesterday and sit in a church service with you and my extended family … the same church my Mother and your Mother grew up in! God bless you and keep you, in the difficult days ahead; and may He give you the “Peace that passes all understanding “! I love ❤️ you. ~ your cousin LaRue
