Please share a memory of Milton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Milton Dewayne Bray, age 85, of Rainsville passed away June 26, 2023. Milton Dewayne Bray was born to Coloniel Willie and Charlsie Bray on August 3rd, 1937, in Dekalb County Alabama. He was one of five children. If we could only say one thing about Paw, he was not afraid of work. At the age of 14 he was working in the field. He had different occupations from carpentry to helping at a florist. He was a truck driver for Valley Joist for around 25 years. During that time, he drove over 4 million miles. Even in his 80's he was making money cutting his neighbor's yard, and still loved to maintain a nice yard himself. Just the other day, as frail as he was, he was helping trim his shrubs, he pulled him up a chair to rest for a moment and was back at it working again. Love was another thing he worked hard at. He was married to Virginia, on May the 12th, 1978, for almost 45 years and boy did he love her for better or worse, in sickness and health, until death did they part. It was 4 months to the date. He wasn't just a hard worker or a loving husband, he was also a step grandpaw and a step great grandpaw. He was knowledgeable about planting, "plant grass seed when it snows," when the snow melts it can take the seed down with it. "Plant corn when the dogwoods bloom.", the watermelons will be ready 5 weeks after they bloom. He was a simple man, but he liked a nice truck, and a good lawn mower. He lived a long successful life and left a good pattern of hard work to follow. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Mtn View Memory Gardens. The Family will receive friends from 12noon, until the time of service, on Sunday at the funeral home.
